The Tabán is one of Budapest's most layered and historically rich districts. This part of the city underwent a unique transformation over its lifetime: it was first inhabited by humans as early as prehistoric times, and from there the process of transforming this land continued for millennia. By the 20th century, it had become so densely populated that a decision was made to demolish it. The area was never rebuilt; instead, it was turned into a park, creating a green oasis within the grey desert of the metropolis, a space that has since thrived and flourished on reclaimed land. This cycle, a return to the starting point, is what primarily inspired my thesis. Will this process stop here, or will it continue, eventually allowing nature to reclaim all spaces? The planned installation aims to continue this narrative with the help of one of its living characters: a centuries-old mulberry tree, a unique witness to the district's history and the relationship between humans and nature.
