Adyváros City Centre buliding complex
For my diploma subject, I wanted to choose an existing - but underrated - building representing socialist modernism. I chose the Adyváros Városközpont complex in Győr, where I used to visit the children's library many times as a child. My design objective was to comprehensively rehabilitate the existing building, to be sensitive to its architectural heritage and to revitalise the complex in line with local needs and trends. I designed it following the original concept of Mária Józsa - blurring the borders between public space and building, stair-step massing, partial demolition and additive spatial composition.
