The guiding principle of the architectural concept is to take advantage of the site's inherent characteristics while adapting to its specific conditions. From a contextual perspective, the surrounding public buildings play a defining role: the Petőfi Public Museum Collection lies to the southeast, while the Podmaniczky Castle is situated to the west.
The proposed function is the creation of a museum that serves both as a connecting and complementary element within the network of surrounding cultural institutions. One of the primary objectives of the new building is to establish a physical and cultural link between these key sites, becoming an integral part of a cultural walking route. In addition, through its permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum would provide a platform for presenting contemporary art from the region, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the works of both well-established and emerging artists.
