Lying beside the Fehérhegy lookout, on a site bordered with retaining walls, it was particularly important for the building to fit into its environment. The two floor building alligns with the organically shaped site contour, forming an inner courtyard, a place for temporary exhibitions. The art studios are located on the first floor, while the public spaces are on the ground floor. The differentiation of the functional units is also reflected in the facade cladding: the gallery and public spaces are covered in white, homogeneous, monolithic concrete cladding, while the studios are laced with monolithic concrete lamellas located in front of the large glass surfaces. The lamellas also create an exciting light-shadow effect in the exhibition space that connects the two floors. Another characteristic is the intense vegetation that appears on all levels. These characters make the Art Studio & Gallery unique in Budafok.
