The goal of my semester project is to provide high-quality yet affordable housing on a vacant lot in Kassa. The dormitory is designed as a three-unit 'train', connected to the neighbour by two linking wings: one houses the staircase, while the other features a bicycle storage and a roof terrace. The ground floor serves as a hub for communal spaces, including a gym, a café/breakfast bar, and a lounge/study area. The upper three residential floors are divided into three units each, accessible from an outdoor staircase via an open gallery. Each unit contains a kitchen+living area and four rooms, characterized by custom-designed furniture and colour-coding. The ground floor has a concrete structure with a shuttering block facade, while the residential floors above are constructed from CLT, which also prominent in the interior design. Above the ground floor, the facade got pastel terracotta-red corrugated metal sheets, which are perforated at the link blocks to create semi-transparency.
