My main inspiration for the design of the concert hall came from the quarries, as these are defining elements of Budafok city. Utilizing the features of the site, the existing retaining wall, and the park in front of it, the building is set into the ground just enough so that the roof is level with the neighboring plot. This way, the large masses rise to the surface, and the courtyards scattered between them create an airy feel. The varying ceiling heights and internal courtyards diversify the space, while the diffused light and vegetation help create an intimate musical atmosphere. The concept is reinforced by the exterior stone cladding and the cave-like entrance, which can be directly accessed from the park, with stairs leading down to it from the two bordering streets.
