House of FILM
I have developed my thesis work by combining the problem of building on a vacant lot that stands in an almost iconically neglected condition in the downtown area of Budapest and the shortcomings of the emerging FILM industry after COVID. My goal was to create a community institution that provides an opportunity for those individuals who are emerging young talents or already working as professional practitioners to further develop and unfold their knowledge and expertise in the world of moving and static film production. The ground floor of the building appears as a public space and returns it to those who pass by. The distinctive façade of the building identifies with the character of the neighborhood through its noble cladding, but by rethinking its perforation, it ensures proper shading and sunlight for the underlying functions.
