The valueable factory complex in the centre of Mosonmagyaróvár has long stood closed in the urban fabric as a memento of the industrial past. Locals are waiting to see when the mill and brewery complex will be revived. The objective of my plan is to reinterpret the former manorial water mill and brewery as an urban community space, to embed it in the urban fabric, thus ensuring the survival of the built heritage. I will create new public spaces from the former factory yards between the historic buildings, linking them to the town’s street grid, thus dissolving the enclosure character of the block. Another idea is to solve the backyard situation of the river Lajta in Mosonmagyaróvár by making the river accessible and integrating it into the public space. The spaces will be surrounded by functions designed to enliven urban life - cultural and educational spaces, retail shops, catering, co-working offices, crafts industry.
