Farkas Molnár was a renowned modern Hungarian architect active in the first half of the 20th century, known primarily for his villa designs and articles published in various journals and newspapers. However, towards the end of his life, he designed a building that stands in a kind of spiritual tension with his earlier works. This architecturally and perhaps spiritually unique creation is the final, still unfinished piece of Molnár's oeuvre: the Magyar Szentföld – Church of Redemption. In my reflections, inspired by the building’s 85-year history, I seek to explore how the forgotten, hidden structure behind the Hűvösvölgy trees can still resonate today with meaning, message, and material presence. Despite—or perhaps because of—its dilapidated and abandoned state, it possesses a unique cultural and architectural value that I believe is worth recognizing, dusting off, and reactivating, bringing it back to life.
