I have designed a boutique hotel on a plot of land in the historic centre of Timisoara. What makes this hotel any more special than an ordinary one? The ornate facades and flora of Timisoara inspired some of the elements of the building. The lower parts of the building, the public areas (reception, restaurant), have a simple stone façade with large windows on the outside, while inside the floor is covered with mosaic tiles in different colours and patterns. These levels surround a flower garden in the shape of an L. Looking up at the building, you can see a metal façade with a flower pattern cut-out. These floors are the levels of the rooms. Each floor has 1 room with an open space where a special piece of furniture is placed. This furniture includes a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Glass walls run around the rooms, so that the metal panels act as both shading and decorative elements, and the holes let light into the rooms, creating a special light.
