Located in the centre of Bakonybél, the woodcarving workshop and artist's colony preserves the sacral spirit of the village's folk art heritage in a contemporary way, and gives space to creative work while preserving local traditions. It provides a peaceful and inspiring environment for artists and visitors alike. The purpose of the project is to create a coherent settlement in the heart of the village, creating a hub with the adjacent pilgrimage and artists' residence. The workshop consists of an exhibition space and studio building opening onto the lower public square, and a workshop attached to the top of the site, which are connected by a covered-open courtyard. The two buildings are sloping towards each other with their roofs converging in their transitional spaces, and a shared porch-like atelier courtyard unites the world of artists and interested amateurs.
